Skip Marley has been nominated by the NAACP for the Outstanding New Artist category. His song Higher Place from his EP of the same name garnered a lot of attention and earned him the nomination.

The nomination places him alongside other talented artists like Doja Cat, Chika, D Smoke, and Giveon. Marley tweeted yesterday that he was “honored to be included in this group of nominees.”

Skip Marley has also been nominated for the 2021 Best Reggae Album Grammy Award, which is to be presented in March.

The NAACP Image Awards, presented annually by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, now enters its fifth decade of recognizing the best in African-American achievements in literature & entertainment. The 52nd annual ceremony will be simulcast on March 27 at 8 p.m. ET across Viacom CBS Networks, which includes BET, CBS, MTV, VH1, MTV2, BET HER, and LOGO.
