Legend

On July 1, 2014, Universal Music Enterprises celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Legend with the release of the CD/Blu-ray Pure Audio Disc™ combo set ‘Legend 30th Anniversary Edition’ (Island Records/Tuff Gong/UMe). Coupled with the original release of ‘Legend’, this deluxe version features this iconic collection entirely mixed in 5.1 by the GRAMMY Award-winning producer Bob Clearmountain on Blu-Ray Pure Audio Disc and now includes the original, early studio version of “No Woman No Cry,” in lieu of the previous live version. Also featured are two, previously unheard alternate takes of “Easy Skanking” and “Punky Reggae Party” recently discovered in the Marley vault. Classic Marley anthems include “Three Little Birds,” “Get Up Stand Up,” “One Love/People Get Ready,” “No Woman No Cry” and “I Shot The Sheriff,” which was later a No. 1 hit for Eric Clapton, as well as “Jamming,” “Exodus,” “Redemption Song” and “Is This Love.”

Ziggy Marley won his third solo GRAMMY award (sixth overall) when the 2013 live release Ziggy Marley In Concert won “Best Reggae Album” at the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards this past Sunday (January 26, 2014).

The 14-track album, recorded on Marley’s 2012 world tour, got the nod over Sly and Robbie and the Jam Masters’ Reggae Connection; Sizzla’s The Messiah; One Love, One Life by Beres Hammond; and Snoop Lion’s Reincarnated.

Ziggy’s first solo GRAMMY came in 2007 for Love is my Religion. His second came three years later, when he won “Best Musical Album for Children” with Family Time. Marley also won three Best Reggae Album Grammys with the Melody Makers, a group that included his brother Stephen and sisters Sharon and Cedella.

Ziggy Marley In Concert contains songs from his work with the Melody Makers including “Justice” and “Tomorrow People”; and “True to Myself”, taken from his first solo album, Dragonfly.

Since the win, Ziggy Marley In Concert has found its way into the Top 10 Reggae albums on iTunes, currently sitting at #9 behind Bob Marley & The Wailers: Gold.
