In celebration of the 70th Earthstrong of Tuff Gong, the Marley family has opened up their personal vault to the fans and released a brand new, never-before-seen live concert video titled ‘Easy Skanking In Boston’. The show was held at Boston’s Music Hall during the 1978 Kaya Tour, and was filmed by a single cameraman whom Bob allowed to shoot from the front row. It’s some of Marley’s most energetic footage to date, and really gives a unique look into his live performances, making fans feel like they’re actually there watching the show from up close.

The video was released on February 17th, and is available as a CD, DVD/CD, Blu-Ray/CD, and digitally on iTunes and Google Play.

Ziggy Marley‘s fifth studio album, FLY RASTA, is available today for fans across all major and indie retailers!

The album was produced by Marley — with additional production by Dave Cooley (J Dilla, Silversun Pickups) — and features The Melody Makers including Cedella Marley, Sharon Marley and Rica Newell. Below is a video Tuff Gong Worldwide put together with some behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the album, and people who were involved in the process.

I’d just been contacted by a 10-year old nephew that I’ve never seen before with a photograph and he looks like a new-age star child. No sooner had I questioned what I could send such a child for his birthday in July, when Ziggy came on BBC Radio in England. His perspective on things matches my own and he wants to re-seed the earth and protect it as our home. I’d like to send his songs and music to this young nephew but it would be better if I could know for sure that all the songs were of this ethic and all would be good for this young boy. In the late ’60’s, I was travelling around Jamaica and joined up with a stressed-out American student in his rental car who wouldn’t stop to look at anything when I asked him to. When we got to Ocho Rios, he obligingly pulled into the parking area of the water falls to sleep for the night, he in the front and me in the back seat. After only a short while, I had the most urgent need to depart from that place. Incredibly, he responded to me and drove out. As we pulled out onto the highway, me still in the back seat, I was caressed by a Rastafarian Spirit who was very visible to me. Clearly, this spirit wanted me out of there. Whether all this ties together, I don’t know, only time will tell!
I know of Marley’s Ghost in the film, “Christmas Carol”. Could this have been Bob Marley’s Spirit even though he was very much alive at that time?
